Rhonda HersheyParticipantI don’t know if this will mean anything to anyone else, but I’m a spreadsheet nerd and whenever I have a big Freezer Fit workday I make a spreadsheet to hang on my refrigerator. It’s just my husband and me so I always split the recipes into 2 batches (quart size) and then put both into a Gallon bag to keep them together.
I have the following columns on my spreadsheet: USED NAME PROTEIN SERVINGS and METHOD.
Method is divided into 4 columns: Crock Pot Grill. Oven/Stovetop and Instapot
Some recipes can be made in more than 1 method so I mark all that apply.
I have a separate line for each meal. As I use a meal I mark the Used box so I always know what’s left. (I also mark recipes that I don’t want to repeat)I hope this makes sense!

Quanisha KnightParticipantThat’s so smart!! I love that idea of separating the meals into two batches and placing it in a gallon bag. It’s also just my husband and I that I cook for and it’s been a game changer having these freezer meals. I am also a spreadsheet need so I’m going to take this spreadsheet idea to help keep track of my meals also! Thank you for sharing!

SuzieParticipantThat’s brilliant ! I think I’ll make one and add a couple columns for frozen date, and category (soup, casserole , pasta, etc). Sorting by columns will also help with taking advantage of sales and planning meals! I love this idea so much!

Julie FarahParticipantWhat a great idea Rhonda! I’ve done a rough list like this, but I still wasn’t fully organized. I’m going to add your pointers. Thank you for posting

ParticipantI bought little magnetic dry erase boards to keep track of what’s in the freezer, but didn’t implement the system. I think it was because I had a full freezer – couldn’t fit anything else in there – and wanted to log what I had to use. Also, the freezer is downstairs, so it involved running down and digging into a deep freeze to figure out what I had. It was overwhelming! But if I were just to start keeping track of new freezer meals as I make them, like you’re suggesting, I bet that would work much better going forward! Thank you! (I aspire to be a spreadsheet nerd, but sometimes fail. =( Tips are much appreciated.)
