Make Ahead Fish Freezer Meal Recipes

Seafood fans can easily enjoy their favorite food at home with the help of fish freezer meals! Simply enough, freezer meals are prepared ahead of time and stored in the freezer. Then, these meals can then be cooked when you’re ready to eat, kind of like frozen TV dinners. Slow Cooker Lemon Salmon Recipe

This freezable fish recipe can be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months. It’s quick, easy, and full of lemon and garlic flavor!

Ingredients

  • 2 lb salmon filets
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 large lemons, sliced
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup vegetable broth – added on day of cooking

Directions for Meal Prep:

  1. Label your 1 gallon-sized plastic freezer bag. Make sure to include name, instructions, and a use-by date (we recommend 90 days after prep date).
  2. Add all ingredients except the vegetable broth to your freezer bag and stir gently to combine.
  3. Remove air, seal, and freeze.

Directions for Slow Cooker:

  1. Thaw the freezer meal overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. Transfer the contents into the crockpot, arranging some of the lemon slices on top of the salmon filets. Pour the vegetable broth around the sides of the salmon.
  3. Cook on low for about 2 hours or on high for 1 hour, until the salmon is cooked through and flaky. Remove the salmon from the broth and serve with fresh lemon slices.
