This delicious and easy freezer meal will make your life so much easier! It’s called Vegan “Sausage” and Kraut, and it’s perfect for those days when you don’t have the time or energy to cook an entire meal from scratch.
This recipe is so good. For starters, it’s hearty and filling, making it perfect for those days when you need extra comfort food. The combination of savory “sausage” and tangy kraut is a match made in heaven, and the addition of sweet onion and green apple adds a touch of sweetness that balances out the flavors perfectly.
But not only is this recipe delicious, it’s also incredibly healthy. It’s vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, and nut-free, which means it’s suitable for a wide range of diets.
Plus, sauerkraut is loaded with probiotics, which are great for your gut health. Probiotics are live microorganisms that are often referred to as “good” bacteria because they provide numerous health benefits to the human body. They can be found in fermented foods like yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut, kimchi, and miso.
One of the main benefits of probiotics is that they can improve gut health. They help balance the bacteria in your gut, improving digestion, reducing inflammation, and boosting your immune system. Probiotics can also help to prevent and treat certain digestive issues, such as diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome, and inflammatory bowel disease.
Probiotics have also been shown to have other health benefits. For example, they can help to lower cholesterol levels, reduce the risk of certain cancers, and even improve mental health.
This freezer meal is fabulous for those days when you don’t have the time or energy to cook, but still want a home-cooked meal. All you have to do is take it out of the freezer, thaw it overnight in the fridge, and then cook it in either a Crockpot or the Instant Pot .
All you have to do is chop up some onion and apple, cut the “sausage” into rounds, and then mix everything in a gallon-sized freezer bag. That’s it! It’s so easy that you could even get your kids to help you out. I recommend using good quality, gallon-sized freezer bags (not those flimsy sandwich bags!) They can lay flat in your freezer and take up less space than a bulky container. Just make sure that any bags used are made specifically for freezing, not just regular sandwich bags, which can easily rip when frozen solid!
Serve it with fresh bread or mashed potatoes, or use it as a topping for a baked potato. The possibilities are endless!
So, if you’re looking for an easy freezer meal that’s hearty, healthy, and delicious, look no further than Vegan “Sausage” and Kraut. It’s the perfect make-ahead meal for busy people and is sure to become a family favorite. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
